Unethical Online Contents PTA Should Censor

Pakistan is an Islamic state and its constitution is based on basic Islamic principles. Though it is an era of technology and world has become a global village due to internet and fast access to information. So with the advancements should we leave our culture and basic Islamic values? No we don’t want to lose them, these cultural and religious values are our base and representation.
On internet there are many things and access to everything means we can’t force our next generation to stay in their limits. In this regard an open eyed and a well educated person from Lahore named as Sohaib Ahmad filed a case in Lahore high court that authorities should censor the websites that shows unethical content like pornography etc.
Lahore High court in this regard issued a notice to PTA and ministry of religious affairs. The court advised PTA to answer within four weeks. The petitioner’s counsel, Fahad
Ahmad Siddiqui said that provision of information to everyone is welcomed but the information that may harm our youth and upcoming generation should be censored. He also said that it is in the constitution of country to protect the citizen of Pakistan against drugs, prostitution, gambling, unethical printing and publications.
The advocate requested Ministry of information and technology to put permanent ban over such websites that are having wrong content so that our future generation may be saved from all this. The online content not only harms the minds of children but they actually and physically indulged in wrong doings by taking guidance from the internet material. There are certain people who take appointments from children and attract them to certain illegal activities. Parents cannot control their children and it is not possible because internet is a need of this era and one should not stop anyone for using it.
