There has already been a lot of discussion on the penetration of obscene content in the society. Considering the young ones, we did a story in past to raise the voice against this circulation of p*rn content.
And not so long ago, once again we suggested the concerned authorities towards this serious issue and may be this is the time we all are in a good position to witness some actions.
In this regards, recently a petition was filed in the court to take necessary measures for the rapid spread of illegal content in the society, specifically obscene one.
Petitioner, Sohaib Ahmed, went off the view that concerned authorities should take some action to prevent the increasing penetration of this evil in our society.
He said that it is the responsibility of the state to prevent prostitution, illegal drugs, gambling, printing and publication of obscene content in the society.
He said:
Fearing surfing of pornography by children and employees, parents and businessmen have urged the government to introduce filtering devices on the internet.
Therefore he asked court to direct Ministry of Telecommunication to block these websites.
Court’s Action:
Lahore High Court has issued a notice to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Ministry of Religious Affairs to submit their viewpoint over the control of circulation of explicit content on the internet.
