Tag Heuer dips its fingers in Android with “Phone with Alligator leather”

Normally high-end users would not mind paying a premium of say over a thousand dollars for cutting edge features like, maybe a quad-core processor or lets say QHD resolution display but it seems, brands have their inherent value and brands really do matter. Hence we introduce the newly announced Tag Heuer Link Phone, a stylish handset made of steel, 18K rose gold, or titanium, with leather, alligator- and lizard-skin, rubber, and diamond accents that will cost you a wallet numbing $6,712.
Expecting cutting edge specs for that price? Thing again. The Link, which is named after the Swiss company’s storied watch line, runs Android 2.2 , a 3.5-inch (800 x 480) display, 5 megapixel autofocus camera, 256MB internal memory, an 8GB memory card, 1400 mAh battery, and EDGE / HSUPA connectivity. Tag says it will also be a durable handset, although they fail to tell us in what way that is. One thing to note that you can see in the video below (at 1.18 sec)  is that this particular phone used in the Ad is a rooted device with the Superuser app seen in the app list.
